Veterans that return home after a war have a need within them to share what happened with a true friend. Sometimes it is hard for them to share that experience with family and friends that did not go to war. Reuniting Veterans is a great way to help them be able to get in contact with that long lost buddy. Sometimes it helps in the emotional healing of what happened during their time in the war.
Connecting with old buddies from the war or someone that was in a prison or concentration camp can sometimes be found in your local area. The VFW is also a good place for help with locating long lost war veterans. Sometimes the search may not have the out come one is looking for, but to answer the nagging question did they make it back can be resolved. Reaching out to a veteran that you thought had long ago disappeared can be a form of healing for both parties.
There are stories that have yet to be told of reuniting veterans with fellow veterans that served in the same unit or friendships that were made while passing through one area to another. These friendships last forever and at veteransreunite.com there are some great post on reuniting veterans. It is also a great site to find resources to help in your search for that person you served with. The website is well laid out and can be helpful to you.
