Watching DVDs At Home

In this economy, most people have found that spending less money is the best way to save money. They usually tend to stop spending money in extra curricular activities like watching movies in the theaters. Not only is saving money a benefit to watching movies at home, but there are usually less distractions and it can be incorporated into quality family time.

Now that movie ticket prices have increased, you can buy an entire movie on DVD for the price of one ticket. For a family of four, spending some family time together and going to a movie would cost $40, whereas renting a movie can cost as little as $1 a night if rented at one of the Redbox kiosks outside of most McDonald's. Watching a movie at home not only allows you to save the money you would have spent on tickets, but you can pocket the money you would have spent on concessions too.

Watching a movie in the comfort of your own home allows you the option of pausing the movie when distractions occur. You don't have to spend the duration of the film annoyed by the moviegoers sitting behind you, talking throughout the movie. You don't have to worry about missing the important scenes if nature calls. Just a simple hit of the pause button and you don't have to worry about missing the turning point just to use the restroom.

Quality family time is another important benefit to watching DVDs at home. It is an easy way for parents to be involved in what their children are watching.
