Trading DVDs

How is your DVD collection looking? Could you use a few new movies to add to your collection in exchange for a few movies you would like to get rid of? Have you ever thought of trading your DVDs with friends and family, versus putting out all that money for new DVDs all the time? With the economy being the way it is these days, it would make updating your DVD collection a little more cost effective.

That was the idea behind Peerflix. This company was started by two friends, Billy McNair and Danny Robinson, who wanted to do just that. Danny lived in Vancouver, BC and Billy lived in the Silicon Valley. This company got its start in Menlo Park, California, and allows peers to legally trade their DVDs among the other members in the network.

Co-founder Billy McNair decided, after getting feedback from his current members, that he would add a family and friends component to this service. This allows you to trade DVDs in the network for free; otherwise the price is $0.99 per trade, with no minimum requirements.

One of the nice things about this service is you are allowed a free trial period, in which to decide if this arrangement works for you. Once you have registered for the free trial, the next step is to make up your two lists; the DVDs you want to trade and your wish list for DVDs you are looking forward to acquiring.
